RE-ID Privacy Policy
RE-ID ("RE-ID", "we", "our", or "us") provides a mobile app that helps users identify and track unreleased music and receive release alerts. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect
Information you provide or authorize
- Account data from sign-in providers:
- Google Sign-In: email, profile name, profile photo, provider account ID
- Apple Sign-In: email (when provided by Apple), name (when provided), provider account ID
- Audio snippets you submit for recognition/tracking.
- Support communications you send to us.
Information collected automatically
- App account metadata: internal user ID, plan tier (free/pro), timestamps (account creation, last seen).
- Push notification token (Expo push token), if you grant notification permission.
- Track metadata generated by recognition workflows, such as matched title, artist, platform, cover art URL, release URL, recognition timestamps, and poll/check counts.
- Technical and operational logs needed to run, secure, and debug the service.
Purchase/subscription data
- If you purchase or restore Pro through in-app purchases, subscription and entitlement status is processed by our subscription provider (RevenueCat) and the platform app store (Apple App Store / Google Play).
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Create and maintain your account.
- Authenticate you and keep you signed in.
- Process submitted audio snippets for music recognition and release tracking.
- Send push notifications when tracked songs are identified/released (if enabled).
- Enforce plan limits (for example, active tracking limits and monthly recognition limits).
- Provide support and respond to requests.
- Detect abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability/security.
- Manage subscriptions and Pro entitlement status.
3. Legal Bases (where applicable)
Depending on your location, we process information under one or more of these legal bases:
- Performance of a contract (providing the app/service you request).
- Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement).
- Consent (for permissions like notifications, where required).
- Compliance with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share data with service providers only as needed to operate RE-ID, including:
- Authentication providers: Google and Apple.
- Audio recognition/music metadata providers: ACRCloud, Shazam, and related metadata services.
- Cloud storage/infrastructure: AWS S3 and/or Cloudflare R2, hosting/database/queue providers.
- Push notifications: Expo.
- Subscription infrastructure: RevenueCat and the applicable app store billing platform.
These providers process data according to their own terms/privacy policies and our instructions where applicable.
5. Data Retention
We retain data for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business/legal purposes.
Current product behavior includes:
- Uploaded audio snippets are stored for active recognition/tracking workflows.
- When tracks are deleted by a user, associated snippet files are deleted from storage.
- Recognized/expired track snippets may be cleaned up by scheduled backend cleanup jobs.
- Account/profile and operational records may be retained while your account remains active, and longer when required for legal, security, tax, or dispute-handling purposes.

6. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request data portability.
You may also:
- Disable notifications in your device settings.
- Stop using the app and remove submitted tracks within the app.

7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where our providers operate. We take reasonable steps intended to protect information transferred across borders.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Children's Privacy
RE-ID is not directed to children under 13 (or older where required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by other appropriate means.
